And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.


And surely your blood, the blood of your lives, will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it: and at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man's brother, will I require the life of man.

Now therefore hold him not guiltless, for thou art a wise man; and thou wilt know what thou oughtest to do unto him, and thou shalt bring his hoar head down to the grave with blood.


behold, I have done according to thy word: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there hath been none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.


Therefore, behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.


Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: For the latter end of that man is peace.


A wise king winnoweth the wicked, And bringeth the threshing wheel over them.


A man that is laden with the blood of any person Shall flee unto the pit; let no man stay him.


Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.


There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.


He entereth into peace; they rest in their beds, each one that walketh in his uprightness.


There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.


There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old, and the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.


So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood, it polluteth the land: and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.
