And it came to pass, while Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:


These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and he was a lad with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought the evil report of them unto their father.


Unstable as water, thou shalt not have the excellency; Because thou wentest up to thy father's bed: Then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.


So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel.


And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and provided them with sustenance, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.

How trimmest thou thy way to seek love! therefore even the wicked women hast thou taught thy ways.


Yet hast thou not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast more corrupt than they in all thy ways.


In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her separation.


The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.


And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.


that pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:


but that we write unto them, that they abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from what is strangled, and from blood.

For it hath been signified unto me concerning you, my brethren, by them which are of the household of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.


but now I write unto you not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no, not to eat.


Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body:


Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.


Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men,


lest, when I come again, my God should humble me before you, and I should mourn for many of them that have sinned heretofore, and repented not of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they committed.


But if any hath caused sorrow, he hath caused sorrow, not to me, but in part (that I press not too heavily) to you all.


So although I wrote unto you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be made manifest unto you in the sight of God.


Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,


But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;


A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's skirt.


Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he hath uncovered his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.


Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, the which is idolatry;


For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.


And I gave her time that she should repent; and she willeth not to repent of her fornication.


But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.


Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD'S people to transgress.
