And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.


And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, Thy God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne, and the king bowed himself upon the bed.


Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house for the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.


Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:


Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.


Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD, the God of Israel.


And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God.


And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the LORD, after that the ark had rest.


Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.


The LORD saith unto my lord, Sit thou at my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.


This is my resting place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.


How he sware unto the LORD, And vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:


I will declare thy name unto my brethren: In the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.


Exalt ye the LORD our God, And worship at his footstool: Holy is he.


The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together; to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.


Thus saith the LORD; The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?


How hath the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger! he hath cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and hath not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.


And he said unto me, Son of man, this is the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever: and the house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, and by the carcases of their kings in their high places;


Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.


The heaven is my throne, And the earth the footstool of my feet: What manner of house will ye build me? saith the Lord: Or what is the place of my rest?


thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not put a foreigner over thee, which is not thy brother.


that his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.
