So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;


Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, with psalteries and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;


Moreover David and the captains of the host separated for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of them that did the work according to their service was:


Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six; under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising the LORD.


All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.


And they cast lots for their charges, all alike, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.


And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea;


And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the order of David king of Israel.


Surely God is good to Israel, Even to such as are pure in heart.


O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?


We give thanks unto thee, O God; We give thanks, for thy name is near: Men tell of thy wondrous works.


In Judah is God known: His name is great in Israel.


I will cry unto God with my voice; Even unto God with my voice, and he wilt give ear unto me.


Give ear, O my people, to my law; incline your ears to the words of my mouth.


O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; Thy holy temple have they defiled; They have laid Jerusalem on heaps.


Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that sittest upon the cherubim, shine forth.


Sing aloud unto God our strength: Make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.


God standeth in the congregation of God; He judgeth among the gods.


O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.


When a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
