And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.


and he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet, and he called his name Jedidiah, for the LORD'S sake.


And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.


And they told the king, saying, Behold, Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.


and the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule:

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.


And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him an house.


And David made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.


And they brought in the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.


And Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.


for I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel, unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.


Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD, the God of Israel.


And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God.


Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: as for me, it was in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God; and I had made ready for the building.


Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer;


But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-jearim to the place that David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.


Until I find out a place for the LORD, A tabernacle for the Mighty One of Jacob.


Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, with cherubim the work of the cunning workman shalt thou make them.


Shalt thou reign, because thou strivest to excel in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgement and justice? then it was well with him.


I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace.


Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your cieled houses, while this house lieth waste?


Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that lieth waste, while ye run every man to his own house.


who found favour in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
