Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, with psalteries and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;


and four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith.

And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites, stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Israel, with an exceeding loud voice.


Also in Judah was the hand of God to give them one heart, to do the commandment of the king and of the princes by the word of the LORD.


also the Levites which were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brethren, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)


it came even to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD,


And the priests stood, according to their offices; the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to give thanks unto the LORD, for his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry: and the priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.


And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication, with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.


and his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them:


And they offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.


For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.


Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.


Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.


Praise him upon the loud cymbals: Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.


Sing aloud unto God our strength: Make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.


Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, At the full moon, on our solemn feast day.


They that sing as well as they that dance shall say, All my fountains are in thee.


O come, let us sing unto the LORD: Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.


And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.


And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their faces to the earth, and lick the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and they that wait for me shall not be ashamed.


the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good, for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that bring sacrifices of thanksgiving into the house of the LORD. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, saith the LORD.


that sing idle songs to the sound of the viol; that devise for themselves instruments of music, like David;


And when they had appointed for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.


And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.


For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that were wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I gave thee charge;
