And David said unto, all the assembly of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and if it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad every where unto our brethren that are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:


And all the assembly said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.


For because ye bare it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not according to the ordinance.


Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah: We found it in the field of the wood.


And Saul said unto Ahijah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was there at that time with the children of Israel.


And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.


And he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.


Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? be it far from me: let not the king impute any thing unto his servant, nor to all the house of my father: for thy servant knoweth nothing of all this, less or more.


Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
