Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the sons of men is fully set to do evil.


For man does not know his time. Like fish which are taken in an evil net, and like birds which are caught in a snare, so the sons of men are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them.


and I, and all the people who are with me, will approach the city. And when they come out against us, as before, we shall flee before them;


then you shall rise up from the ambush, and seize the city; for the Lord your God will give it into your hand.


And the Benjaminites said, “They are routed before us, as at the first.” But the men of Israel said, “Let us flee, and draw them away from the city to the highways.”
