Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “Spare thy people, O Lord, and make not thy heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ”


Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will gloat over her; now she will be trodden down like the mire of the streets.


But Moses said to the Lord, “Then the Egyptians will hear of it, for thou didst bring up this people in thy might from among them,


Father, glorify thy name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”


lest the land from which thou didst bring us say, “Because the Lord was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.”


The Lord said to Joshua, “Arise, why have you thus fallen upon your face?


O Lord, what can I say, when Israel has turned their backs before their enemies!


For the Lord will not cast away his people, for his great name's sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you a people for himself.
