They gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and went in as the king had commanded, by the words of the Lord, to cleanse the house of the Lord.

And the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.


And Joshua said to the people of Israel, “Come hither, and hear the words of the Lord your God.”


and when all the people had finished passing over, the ark of the Lord and the priests passed over before the people.
