Do they not err that devise evil? Those who devise good meet loyalty and faithfulness.


There are friends who pretend to be friends, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.


“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.


So the tribune dismissed the young man, charging him, “Tell no one that you have informed me of this.”


and save alive my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them, and deliver our lives from death.”


Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was built into the city wall, so that she dwelt in the wall.


And the city and all that is within it shall be devoted to the Lord for destruction; only Rahab the harlot and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she hid the messengers that we sent.


And Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the harlot's house, and bring out from it the woman, and all who belong to her, as you swore to her.”


But Rahab the harlot, and her father's household, and all who belonged to her, Joshua saved alive; and she dwelt in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.


Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a sacred covenant with you. But if there is guilt in me, slay me yourself; for why should you bring me to your father?”
