“When you go forth to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.


And the Lord commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, “Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to give them: I will be with you.”


Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears and call heaven and earth to witness against them.


Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people,


Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you; only may the Lord your God be with you, as he was with Moses!


Whoever rebels against your commandment and disobeys your words, whatever you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.”


And Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid or dismayed; be strong and of good courage; for thus the Lord will do to all your enemies against whom you fight.”


And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands; there shall not a man of them stand before you.”


And the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.


So the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.


And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear or be dismayed; take all the fighting men with you, and arise, go up to Ai; see, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, and his people, his city, and his land;


And the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?”


Now when these signs meet you, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you.
