Insults have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.


For zeal for thy house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult thee have fallen on me.


it is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Be-elzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.


And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.”


Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, thy will be done.”


And the robbers who were crucified with him also reviled him in the same way.


If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.


If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.


Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.


“I can do nothing on my own authority; as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.


For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me;


And he who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what is pleasing to him.”


For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.


Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,


And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.
