O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!


Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, thy will be done.”


He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly moved.

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Elo-i, Elo-i, lama sabach-thani?” which means, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”


Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; and I will praise thee with the lyre, O God, my God.


He shall build a house for my name. He shall be my son, and I will be his father, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel for ever.’


For to what angel did God ever say, “Thou art my Son, today I have begotten thee”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”?


And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.”


I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall command peace to the nations; his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
