So Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria.


With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can man do to me?

speaking of this as he does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other scriptures.

Saul was still more afraid of David. So Saul was David's enemy continually.


But Saul cast his spear at him to smite him; so Jonathan knew that his father was determined to put David to death.


If he says, ‘Good!’ it will be well with your servant; but if he is angry, then know that evil is determined by him.
