David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die.


Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do what is evil in his sight? You have smitten Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the Ammonites.


But David's heart smote him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the Lord, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, O Lord, I pray thee, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.”


Then David spoke to the Lord when he saw the angel who was smiting the people, and said, “Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me and against my father's house.”

if I have concealed my transgressions from men, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom,


and he sings before men, and says: ‘I sinned, and perverted what was right, and it was not requited to me.


as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.


who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,


Turn thou to me, and be gracious to me; for I am lonely and afflicted.


Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.


For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.


I confess my iniquity, I am sorry for my sin.


Those who are my foes without cause are mighty, and many are those who hate me wrongfully.

Only acknowledge your guilt, that you rebelled against the Lord your God and scattered your favors among strangers under every green tree, and that you have not obeyed my voice, says the Lord.


Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he my darling child? For as often as I speak against him, I do remember him still. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.


“Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn, that he may heal us; he has stricken, and he will bind us up.


When a man is guilty in any of these, he shall confess the sin he has committed,


Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How are we robbing thee?’ In your tithes and offerings.


But he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.


Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”


and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.


Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and render praise to him; and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.”
