O taste and see that the Lord is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him!


O fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no want!


Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after false gods!


O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in thee!


He who gives heed to the word will prosper, and happy is he who trusts in the Lord.


Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you; therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.


“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.


And now they sin more and more, and make for themselves molten images, idols skilfully made of their silver, all of them the work of craftsmen. Sacrifice to these, they say. Men kiss calves!


before you are driven away like the drifting chaff, before there comes upon you the fierce anger of the Lord, before there comes upon you the day of the wrath of the Lord.


Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.


that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.


The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”


as it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone that will make men stumble, a rock that will make them fall; and he who believes in him will not be put to shame.”


we who first hoped in Christ have been destined and appointed to live for the praise of his glory.


Through him you have confidence in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.


For it stands in scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and he who believes in him will not be put to shame.”


Then Samuel took a vial of oil and poured it on his head, and kissed him and said, “Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince over his people Israel? And you shall reign over the people of the Lord and you will save them from the hand of their enemies round about. And this shall be the sign to you that the Lord has anointed you to be prince over his heritage.
