A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous.


But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.


Shall not all these take up their taunt against him, in scoffing derision of him, and say, “Woe to him who heaps up what is not his own— for how long?— and loads himself with pledges!”


A miserly man hastens after wealth, and does not know that want will come upon him.


A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.


He who augments his wealth by interest and increase gathers it for him who is kind to the poor.


Do not toil to acquire wealth; be wise enough to desist.


If you will not listen, if you will not lay it to heart to give glory to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; indeed I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.


I will send it forth, says the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter the house of the thief, and the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it shall abide in his house and consume it, both timber and stones.”


If one curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in utter darkness.


Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will help you.


The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a snare of death.
