The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.


For if any one thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.


But then what return did you get from the things of which you are now ashamed? The end of those things is death.


“Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.


There are those who are pure in their own eyes but are not cleansed of their filth.


But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.


Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.


And Jeroboam said in his heart, “Now the kingdom will turn back to the house of David;


So the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, “You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”
