Like vinegar to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.


Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but he who heeds reproof is honored.


Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest is a faithful messenger to those who send him, he refreshes the spirit of his masters.


The north wind brings forth rain; and a backbiting tongue, angry looks.


He who sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.

So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.


I thank him who has given me strength for this, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful by appointing me to his service,


and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
