He who belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.


A prudent man conceals his knowledge, but fools proclaim their folly.


A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies.


Good sense makes a man slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.


He who goes about gossiping reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with one who speaks foolishly.


Argue your case with your neighbor himself, and do not disclose another's secret;

And the men said to her, “Our life for yours! If you do not tell this business of ours, then we will deal kindly and faithfully with you when the Lord gives us the land.”


But if you tell this business of ours, then we shall be guiltless with respect to your oath which you have made us swear.”
