“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins.


The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;


to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;


And I, behold, I make you this day a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, its princes, its priests, and the people of the land.


If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.


Therefore I am full of the wrath of the Lord; I am weary of holding it in. “Pour it out upon the children in the street, and upon the gatherings of young men, also; both husband and wife shall be taken, the old folk and the very aged.


Your prophets have seen for you false and deceptive visions; they have not exposed your iniquity to restore your fortunes, but have seen for you oracles false and misleading.


“Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations,


Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Then let them know the abominations of their fathers,


“And you, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? Then declare to her all her abominable deeds.


The Lord said to me: “Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominable deeds.


The Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness in the heat of my spirit, the hand of the Lord being strong upon me;


“And you, son of man, describe to the house of Israel the temple and its appearance and plan, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities.


for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.

and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
