When they came to Caperna-um, the collectors of the half-shekel tax went up to Peter and said, “Does not your teacher pay the tax?”


that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:


“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—


And getting into a boat he crossed over and came to his own city.


And they went into Caperna-um; and immediately on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught.


And when he returned to Caperna-um after some days, it was reported that he was at home.


And you, Caperna-um, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades.


And he said to them, “Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb, ‘Physician, heal yourself; what we have heard you did at Caperna-um, do here also in your own country.’ ”


After this he went down to Caperna-um, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples; and there they stayed for a few days.


So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And at Caperna-um there was an official whose son was ill.


got into a boat, and started across the sea to Caperna-um. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.


So when the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and went to Caperna-um, seeking Jesus.


This he said in the synagogue, as he taught at Caperna-um.
