But if you do not listen to me, to keep the sabbath day holy, and not to bear a burden and enter by the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem and shall not be quenched.’ ”


Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. And a maid came up to him, and said, “You also were with Jesus the Galilean.”


Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the praetorium, and they gathered the whole battalion before him.


And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest; and he was sitting with the guards, and warming himself at the fire.


And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the maids of the high priest came;


And the soldiers led him away inside the palace (that is, the praetorium); and they called together the whole battalion.


and when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them.


in the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness;


Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if any one knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.


Annas then sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.


Then they led Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the praetorium. It was early. They themselves did not enter the praetorium, so that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover.
