It is time for the Lord to act, for thy law has been broken.


My zeal consumes me, because my foes forget thy words.


“How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie.


My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.


But you say, ‘If any one tells his father or his mother, What you would have gained from me is given to God, he need not honor his father.’


You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:


thus making void the word of God through your tradition which you hand on. And many such things you do.”


Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.


If any believing woman has relatives who are widows, let her assist them; let the church not be burdened, so that it may assist those who are real widows.


If any one does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his own family, he has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
