So they watched him, and sent spies, who pretended to be sincere, that they might take hold of what he said, so as to deliver him up to the authority and jurisdiction of the governor.


And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the sabbath, so that they might find an accusation against him.


Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.


But a Pharisee in the council named Gamali-el, a teacher of the law, held in honor by all the people, stood up and ordered the men to be put outside for a while.
