And thou didst warn them in order to turn them back to thy law. Yet they acted presumptuously and did not obey thy commandments, but sinned against thy ordinances, by the observance of which a man shall live, and turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not obey.


He who keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises the word will die.


I gave them my statutes and showed them my ordinances, by whose observance man shall live.


But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness; they did not walk in my statutes but rejected my ordinances, by whose observance man shall live; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned. “Then I thought I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to make a full end of them.


But the children rebelled against me; they did not walk in my statutes, and were not careful to observe my ordinances, by whose observance man shall live; they profaned my sabbaths. “Then I thought I would pour out my wrath upon them and spend my anger against them in the wilderness.


You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances, by doing which a man shall live: I am the Lord.


And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.”


And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any question.


Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, to whom he forgave more.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.”


For Christ is the end of the law, that every one who has faith may be justified.


Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.


the very commandment which promised life proved to be death to me.


but the law does not rest on faith, for “He who does them shall live by them.”


And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as at this day.
