Heleb the son of Baanah of Netophah, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibe-ah of the Benjaminites,


And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who said to David, “You will not come in here, but the blind and the lame will ward you off”—thinking, “David cannot come in here.”


And David said on that day, “Whoever would smite the Jebusites, let him get up the water shaft to attack the lame and the blind, who are hated by David's soul.” Therefore it is said, “The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.”


These were the heads of fathers' houses, according to their generations, chief men. These dwelt in Jerusalem.


they have crossed over the pass, at Geba they lodge for the night; Ramah trembles, Gibe-ah of Saul has fled.

But the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the people of Judah could not drive out; so the Jebusites dwell with the people of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.


then the boundary goes up by the valley of the son of Hinnom at the southern shoulder of the Jebusite (that is, Jerusalem); and the boundary goes up to the top of the mountain that lies over against the valley of Hinnom, on the west, at the northern end of the valley of Rephaim;

The second lot came out for Simeon, for the tribe of Simeon, according to its families; and its inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the tribe of Judah.


But the people of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who dwelt in Jerusalem; so the Jebusites have dwelt with the people of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.


But the man would not spend the night; he rose up and departed, and arrived opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). He had with him a couple of saddled asses, and his concubine was with him.


Saul also went to his home at Gibe-ah, and with him went men of valor whose hearts God had touched.
