He who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him; the sojourner as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.


But the Pharisees went out and took counsel against him, how to destroy him.


And their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he vanished out of their sight.


Jesus therefore no longer went about openly among the Jews, but went from there to the country near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim; and there he stayed with the disciples.

Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.” The Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put any man to death.”


Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place.


As he passed by, he saw a man blind from his birth.


But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together upon him.


And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
