Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow afterward.”


You heard me say to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.


concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more;


“A little while, and you will see me no more; again a little while, and you will see me.”


Some of his disciples said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’; and, ‘because I go to the Father’?”


I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”


But now I am coming to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

Then what if you were to see the Son of man ascending where he was before?


Jesus then said, “I shall be with you a little longer, and then I go to him who sent me;


He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,


looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
