When Jacob learned that there was grain in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why do you look at one another?”


and as they were eating, he said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”


And they were very sorrowful, and began to say to him one after another, “Is it I, Lord?”


And as they were at table eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.”


They began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one after another, “Is it I?”


But behold the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.


And they began to question one another, which of them it was that would do this.


I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’


When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
