For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol.


But what can I say? For he has spoken to me, and he himself has done it. All my sleep has fled because of the bitterness of my soul.

Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.


When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”


So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.


And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified.


When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”


Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice.”


The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the foremost of sinners;


Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,


In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard for his godly fear.
