And leaving them, he went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there.


And he entered Jerusalem, and went into the temple; and when he had looked round at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.


Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them.


And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment,


Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.


When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.”


The dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with bandages, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”


Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves.


The next day a great crowd who had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.


Now among those who went up to worship at the feast were some Greeks.


When the great crowd of the Jews learned that he was there, they came, not only on account of Jesus but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.
