So when the men of Ai looked back, behold, the smoke of the city went up to heaven; and they had no power to flee this way or that, for the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers.


and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, “What city was like the great city?”


And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and were wanton with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning;


The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, which fell on the earth; and a third of the earth was burnt up, and a third of the trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.


Now the appointed signal between the men of Israel and the men in ambush was that when they made a great cloud of smoke rise up out of the city


But when the signal began to rise out of the city in a column of smoke, the Benjaminites looked behind them; and behold, the whole of the city went up in smoke to heaven.
