Then all men will fear; they will tell what God has wrought, and ponder what he has done.


Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!


All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols; all gods bow down before him.


And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name; make known his deeds among the nations, proclaim that his name is exalted.


On a bare hill raise a signal, cry aloud to them; wave the hand for them to enter the gates of the nobles.


And behold, here come riders, horsemen in pairs!” And he answered, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the images of her gods he has shattered to the ground.”


and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; therefore they were destroyed.


At that time Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent envoys with letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick and had recovered.


Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are on beasts and cattle; these things you carry are loaded as burdens on weary beasts.


Go forth from Babylon, flee from Chaldea, declare this with a shout of joy, proclaim it, send it forth to the end of the earth; say, “The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob!”


“You have heard; now see all this; and will you not declare it? From this time forth I make you hear new things, hidden things which you have not known.


Thus shall you say to them: “The gods who did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.”


They are worthless, a work of delusion; at the time of their punishment they shall perish.


“Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands afar off; say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.’


Warn the nations that he is coming; announce to Jerusalem, “Besiegers come from a distant land; they shout against the cities of Judah.


Raise a standard toward Zion, flee for safety, stay not, for I bring evil from the north, and great destruction.


“Declare in Egypt, and proclaim in Migdol; proclaim in Memphis and Tahpanhes; Say, ‘Stand ready and be prepared, for the sword shall devour round about you.’


At the sound of the capture of Babylon the earth shall tremble, and her cry shall be heard among the nations.”


Set up a standard against the walls of Babylon; make the watch strong; set up watchmen; prepare the ambushes; for the Lord has both planned and done what he spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.


“Set up a standard on the earth, blow the trumpet among the nations; prepare the nations for war against her, summon against her the kingdoms, Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz; appoint a marshal against her, bring up horses like bristling locusts.


One runner runs to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to tell the king of Babylon that his city is taken on every side;


And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and take out of his mouth what he has swallowed. The nations shall no longer flow to him; the wall of Babylon has fallen.


“Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I will punish the images of Babylon; her whole land shall be put to shame, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.


“Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will execute judgment upon her images, and through all her land the wounded shall groan.


Suddenly Babylon has fallen and been broken; wail for her! Take balm for her pain; perhaps she may be healed.


And in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth day of the month, Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he became king, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out of prison;


Therefore hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, what will happen to them.


And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God; and he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god.


Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image which I have set up?


The Lord will be terrible against them; yea, he will famish all the gods of the earth, and to him shall bow down, each in its place, all the lands of the nations.


And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! It has become a dwelling place of demons, a haunt of every foul spirit, a haunt of every foul and hateful bird;
