In the spring of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon, with the precious vessels of the house of the Lord, and made his brother Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.

And Jeremiah said to Seraiah: “When you come to Babylon, see that you read all these words,


with the following letter: “The brethren, both the apostles and the elders, to the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greeting.


For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it (though I did regret it), for I see that letter grieved you, though only for a while.

I appeal to you, brethren, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
