even as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures,


For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

And consider this day (since I am not speaking to your children who have not known or seen it), consider the discipline of the Lord your God, his greatness, his mighty hand and his outstretched arm,


And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.


For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.


Although he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he suffered;


so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit;
