you shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your children's children, and your flocks, your herds, and all that you have;


and there I will provide for you, for there are yet five years of famine to come; lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty.’


And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors.


So Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, “My father and my brothers, with their flocks and herds and all that they possess, have come from the land of Canaan; they are now in the land of Goshen.”


and as for the people, he made slaves of them from one end of Egypt to the other.


And at the harvests you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four fifths shall be your own, as seed for the field and as food for yourselves and your households, and as food for your little ones.”


So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.” Thus he reassured them and comforted them.


“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you.


And they will hang on him the whole weight of his father's house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons.


But we were gentle among you, like a nurse taking care of her children.


for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.


If a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn their religious duty to their own family and make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.


If any one does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his own family, he has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.


He shall be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age; for your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is more to you than seven sons, has borne him.”
