Now Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said to himself, “The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”


They said to one another, “Here comes this dreamer.


When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “It may be that Joseph will hate us and pay us back for all the evil which we did to him.”


As for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.


He turned their hearts to hate his people, to deal craftily with his servants.


In return for my love they accuse me, even as I make prayer for them.


Yea, I hear the whispering of many— terror on every side!— as they scheme together against me, as they plot to take my life.


But I trust in thee, O Lord, I say, “Thou art my God.”


The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him;


The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him.


They band together against the life of the righteous, and condemn the innocent to death.


But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’


When morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death;


But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’


It was now two days before the Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth, and kill him;


So from that day on they took counsel how to put him to death.


When it was day, the Jews made a plot and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.


And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David. But Jonathan, Saul's son, delighted much in David.
