And when the princes of Pharaoh saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.


But the Lord afflicted Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.


but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.”


For the Lord had closed all the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.


But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken; for she is a man's wife.”


So Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told them all these things; and the men were very much afraid.

Then David spoke to the Lord when he saw the angel who was smiting the people, and said, “Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me and against my father's house.”


And the king said to the man of God, “Entreat now the favor of the Lord your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” And the man of God entreated the Lord; and the king's hand was restored to him, and became as it was before.


But Naaman was angry, and went away, saying, “Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and cure the leper.

The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.

He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.


In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets;


Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and adulterous.
