Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am about to die, but God will be with you, and will bring you again to the land of your fathers.


And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die; but God will visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”


For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.


For the Lord will vindicate his people, and have compassion on his servants.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in thy sight, so that thou art justified in thy sentence and blameless in thy judgment.


At midnight the Lord smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the first-born of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the first-born of the cattle.


Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring forth my people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.”


‘But I will judge the nation which they serve,’ said God, ‘and after that they shall come out and worship me in this place.’


But the Lord has taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be a people of his own possession, as at this day.


and the Lord showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, against Egypt and against Pharaoh and all his household, before our eyes;


for it is the Lord our God who brought us and our fathers up from the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, and who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went, and among all the peoples through whom we passed;


When Jacob went into Egypt and the Egyptians oppressed them, then your fathers cried to the Lord and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.
