O Lord, I love the habitation of thy house, and the place where thy glory dwells.


One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.


For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.


Blessed are the men whose strength is in thee, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.


And you shall measure, outside the city, for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the middle; this shall belong to them as pasture land for their cities.


then to the place which the Lord your God will choose, to make his name dwell there, thither you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the offering that you present, and all your votive offerings which you vow to the Lord.


but at the place which the Lord will choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I am commanding you.


But you shall seek the place which the Lord your God will choose out of all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there; thither you shall go,


And you shall offer the passover sacrifice to the Lord your God, from the flock or the herd, at the place which the Lord will choose, to make his name dwell there.


then he may minister in the name of the Lord his God, like all his fellow Levites who stand to minister there before the Lord.


The saying is sure: If any one aspires to the office of bishop, he desires a noble task.


Tend the flock of God that is your charge, not by constraint but willingly, not for shameful gain but eagerly,
