The king said, “Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” The woman answered and said, “As surely as you live, my lord the king, one cannot turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my lord the king has said. It was your servant Joab who bade me; it was he who put all these words in the mouth of your handmaid.


Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.


and you are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes which the Lord has spoken to them by Moses.”


Then you shall do according to what they declare to you from that place which the Lord will choose; and you shall be careful to do according to all that they direct you;


that his heart may not be lifted up above his brethren, and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, either to the right hand or to the left; so that he may continue long in his kingdom, he and his children, in Israel.


“If there is a dispute between men, and they come into court, and the judges decide between them, acquitting the innocent and condemning the guilty,


and if you do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.


You shall be careful to do therefore as the Lord your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.


Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for any honest work,


Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.


Therefore be very steadfast to keep and do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, turning aside from it neither to the right hand nor to the left,


and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and wilful, they are not afraid to revile the glorious ones,


Yet in like manner these men in their dreamings defile the flesh, reject authority, and revile the glorious ones.
