Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan; but when they came to Haran, they settled there.


Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you.


And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions which they had gathered, and the persons that they had gotten in Haran; and they set forth to go to the land of Canaan. When they had come to the land of Canaan,


And he said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess.”


Jacob said to them, “My brothers, where do you come from?” They said, “We are from Haran.”


Thou art the Lord, the God who didst choose Abram and bring him forth out of Ur of the Chaldeans and give him the name Abraham;


Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah


Lift up your heads, O gates! and be lifted up, O ancient doors! that the King of glory may come in.


The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, upon many waters.


Have the gods of the nations delivered them, the nations which my fathers destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?


Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him and made him many.


And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.”


And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.

“Worthy art thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for thou didst create all things, and by thy will they existed and were created.”
