Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”


who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.


And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell,


Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?”


“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.


Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also.


I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”


Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.


When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad; and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose;


and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church, and taught a large company of people; and in Antioch the disciples were for the first time called Christians.


And the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brethren who lived in Judea;


And when the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.


But when the disciples gathered about him, he rose up and entered the city; and on the next day he went on with Barnabas to Derbe.


And they remained no little time with the disciples.


And Judas and Silas, who were themselves prophets, exhorted the brethren with many words and strengthened them.


And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.


After spending some time there he departed and went from place to place through the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.


And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.


for I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”


and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.


who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.


For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,


provided that you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.


so that he may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.


Do not be ashamed then of testifying to our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel in the power of God,


Indeed all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,


For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.


And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, and strengthen you.


Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world.


so there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.


Beloved, being very eager to write to you of our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.


I John, your brother, who share with you in Jesus the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.


Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.


I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
