“The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me, his word is upon my tongue.


Thou gavest thy good Spirit to instruct them, and didst not withhold thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.


I have laid up thy word in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.


The unfolding of thy words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.


How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to thy word.


There is severe discipline for him who forsakes the way; he who hates reproof will die.


He whose ear heeds wholesome admonition will abide among the wise.


For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,


Should this be said, O house of Jacob? Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient? Are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly?


She listens to no voice, she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the Lord, she does not draw near to her God.


And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”


Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: ‘The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?


He said to them, “How is it then that David, inspired by the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,


But how then should the scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”


But all this has taken place, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.


Jesus said to them, “Is not this why you are wrong, that you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God?


David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, declared, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I put thy enemies under thy feet.’


If he called them gods to whom the word of God came (and scripture cannot be broken),


For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.


Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.


Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, when you hear his voice,


For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
