For how shall it be known that I have found favor in thy sight, I and thy people? Is it not in thy going with us, so that we are distinct, I and thy people, from all other people that are upon the face of the earth?”


and I will take you for my people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.


For by now I could have put forth my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth;


but for this purpose have I let you live, to show you my power, so that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.


who hast shown signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and to this day in Israel and among all mankind, and hast made thee a name, as at this day.


Thou didst bring thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and outstretched arm, and with great terror;


But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they dwelt, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.


“So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”


to the praise of his glorious grace which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.


He is your praise; he is your God, who has done for you these great and terrible things which your eyes have seen.


You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God redeemed you; therefore I command you this today.
