So Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria.


When the child had grown, he went out one day to his father among the reapers.


Then he summoned Gehazi and said, “Call this Shunammite.” So he called her. And when she came to him, he said, “Take up your son.”


And Elisha came again to Gilgal when there was a famine in the land. And as the sons of the prophets were sitting before him, he said to his servant, “Set on the great pot, and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets.”


And so it happened to him, for the people trod upon him in the gate and he died.


So the woman arose, and did according to the word of the man of God; she went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.


When he summoned a famine on the land, and broke every staff of bread,


a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the wickedness of its inhabitants.


For behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name, and shall you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth, says the Lord of hosts.’


When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall deliver your bread again by weight; and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.


“I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places, yet you did not return to me,” says the Lord.


And I have called for a drought upon the land and the hills, upon the grain, the new wine, the oil, upon what the ground brings forth, upon men and cattle, and upon all their labors.”


there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.


for these are days of vengeance, to fulfil all that is written.


But in truth, I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when there came a great famine over all the land;


And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world; and this took place in the days of Claudius.


In the days when the judges ruled there was a famine in the land, and a certain man of Bethlehem in Judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he and his wife and his two sons.
