In the third year of his reign he sent his princes, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;


And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.


But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King. At his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his indignation.


Her gates have sunk into the ground; he has ruined and broken her bars; her king and princes are among the nations; the law is no more, and her prophets obtain no vision from the Lord.


For the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or teraphim.


and you are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes which the Lord has spoken to them by Moses.”


And the Lord spoke to Aaron, saying,


“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “when I will send a famine on the land; not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.


Its heads give judgment for a bribe, its priests teach for hire, its prophets divine for money; yet they lean upon the Lord and say, “Is not the Lord in the midst of us? No evil shall come upon us.”


For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.


And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.


All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.


To those outside the law I became as one outside the law—not being without law toward God but under the law of Christ—that I might win those outside the law.


They shall teach Jacob thy ordinances, and Israel thy law; they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt offering upon thy altar.


For they themselves report concerning us what a welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God,


Now a bishop must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, dignified, hospitable, an apt teacher,


And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, to know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
