“From on high he sent fire; into my bones he made it descend; he spread a net for my feet; he turned me back; he has left me stunned, faint all the day long.


And he told them a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.


And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?


and as a widow till she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.


to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly worship night and day. And for this hope I am accused by Jews, O king!


Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists murmured against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.

Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,


Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.


First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men,


If any believing woman has relatives who are widows, let her assist them; let the church not be burdened, so that it may assist those who are real widows.


Honor widows who are real widows.


I thank God whom I serve with a clear conscience, as did my fathers, when I remember you constantly in my prayers.


So once the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves and were submissive to their husbands,


The Lord recompense you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge!”
